World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia Events

The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia puts on some amazing events around global business and international trade.  Their mission is to accelerate global business growth for companies in the Greater Philadelphia Region. We do this by providing one-on-one trade counseling, market research, global trade missions, peer group networking, and connections to over 300 world trade centers in 80 countries. Since 2002 we have assisted companies in generating more than $1.9 billion in increased export sales, creating more than 24,900 jobs. We had the ability to attend their “Navigating Whiskey and Risk Around The World” event last week and although we could not attend, we were very excited about their ” Grow Your Global Business in Hong Kong” seminar this morning.

With a population of over 70 million people and a GDP of USD1.6 trillion, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is an enormous market that offers ample opportunities to grow your global business. Attendees had the opportunity to meet Joanne Chu, the new Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York and Charles Ng, Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong as they presented the latest business developments in GBA and how Hong Kong can help you capture the immense opportunities lying ahead. The objectives are to further deepen cooperation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, fully leverage the composite advantages of the three places, facilitate in-depth integration within the region, and promote coordinated regional economic development, with a view to developing an international first-class bay area ideal for living, working and traveling.

Last Thursday, we had the ability to attend the Navigating Whiskey and Risk Around The World seminar. We listened to four different speakers covering global risk and employment around the world.  We also had the ability to network and taste some whiskeys from Vintage Imports Inc.
