Kompass is happy to announce a new partnership with Bpm’online. On May 2nd and 3rd, Kompass had the honor of participating in BPM‘s Accelerate Event in Miami, Florida.  Bpm’online is a global software company leading business process automation and CRM. The company has been highly recognized as a market leader by key industry analysts. Its intelligent platform accelerates sales, marketing, service and operations for thousands of customers and hundreds of partners worldwide. The Accelerate event is a premier event catered to business and tech leaders to explore new avenues for business growth acceleration. With two full days of speakers, networking and demos, it is an unforgettable event.

Emmanuel Facovi, our Chief International Officer, was invited to participate at the BPM Convention as one of it’s Key Speakers. Emmanuel took part of two sessions –  Celebrity Roast Interview and Business Fails & Lessons Learned.

Together with Sebastian Forget, President of Solution Metrix; Flavio Manfredi Lebrao, Owner of Praxi Solutions; Jason Green, Founder and Managing Partner of Intelestream Inc.; Emmanuel Facovi answered unexpected questions during the Celebrity Roast Interviews.

The Celebrity Roast Interview session got some really great feedback! Adis Vila, President & Founder of Vila & Associates said, it was a way to “build an open culture so everyone feels good about giving back feedback.”

The panel was moderated by Chris Parry, Rear Admiral, CBE PhD Churchill College, Cambridge, who gave an amazing Keynote talk later in the afternoon titled “Acceleration-How Fast Can you Go?”

Emmanuel also participated in the Business Fails & Lessons Learned session.  He talked about how Kompass has migrated from a traditional publishing industry to a successful one in the digital era.

He shared some of his experiences with us.

Kompass migrated from a (dying) traditional publishing industry into the digital data era. I am backing up my speech with lessons/examples learned in my career with the over 10 years I previously spent with Nokia which is great business case for success and failures, and 10 years at Kompass.

Founded in 1944, Kompass is a leader in data. In 90’s, Kompass was a 100M$ revenue organization of which 80 % was derived from BTB Directory Advertising. The sales expanded globally in over 70 countries with double-digit growth every year exceeding over 100M$ revenues until the early 90’s. However new comers and digital data cropped up as new challenges we had to face.

We moved our business model towards smart data- a focus not on the data itself, but what data tells us. We mixed digital and physical, so we call phygital:  because in a growing digital world people value the human touch, they want to meet face-to-face. Professionals want to share their opinions in a collaborative way.

It is beyond important to listen to your customers and understand their needs. Kompass has combined modern technology ad data with the needs of our customers; but not without some ups and down. It is important to always get back up.”

Thank you for the Bpm’online team for an amazing event and to Emmanuel for sharing his experiences with us! See you next year Bpm’online and the Accelerate event!
