At the core of our B2B database is Kompass Classification. Born in France, the Kompass Classification is the foundation of the unique Global Kompass database. The Kompass Classification system incorporates all B2B activity sector and is available globally in over 50 countries and in 24 different languages.

How Kompass Classification Works:

The Kompass Classification works by dividing the data into four different levels:  family groups, sectors, branches and products. We have 15 family groups that have 67 activity sectors that break down into 3024 branches which have 56566 products and services in them. This allows you to get more detailed and specific information. The family groups serve as overviewing general groups that allow a user to optimize their search. These family groups are such as Energy, Environment, Health, Agri-food and etc.

For example, when searching through the 67 business sectors, we can find the wood sector labeled as 14. Within the wood sector, we can search through the branches to get a more specific type. We label the different branches by 5-digit codes such as 14040 for Tropical Timber Logs. Finally, to get as specific as possible, we go to the products and services level. Here we have 7 digits code to label over 56566 products and services. Number 1403007 is the code for Teak Wood Logs. Within a few simple clicks, we were able break down what you are looking for to as specific as possible and direct you to the best services and products possible.

Kompass Classification History:

The Kompass Classification system was created as early as the Kompass company, itself  in 1947. Since then, both the structure and the levels have evolved over time as the global economy grows and technologies change. As technology advanced, the Kompass Classification system went from being a paper directory to an online system. This allows a more global reach. As the global economy continues to grow, so does Kompass Classification. We add more and more data.

In 2013, we came out with the 13th version of Kompass Classification. September 2016 we released our last version WF13.13. This is our most specific but most user-friendly version. With a simple search engine but lots of advance details, we deliver B2B data that is easy and quick to access.

Why Kompass Classification:

The Kompass classification is a company-specific classification system but is user friendly. We have a reliable structure with complex information but it is easy to understand. It is an optimized search engine with international targeting and reliable information. Is there anything more you could ask for from a B2B Database?
