Iris Palma – Co-founder of The Next Services. Iris Palma is an economist specializing in technology strategies for businesses and governments. She is the founder of The Next Services, a company based in San Salvador with operations in Central America, dedicated to developing digital strategies for private and public organizations. Also, Iris serves as Ambassador of the Open Knowledge International in El Salvador and the Open Data Director of DatosElSalvador, the first open data portal in Central America to be created by citizens. Before founding her company, Iris worked with organizations such as the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United States Agency for International Development. Her achievements include designing and implementing innovation and technology projects, focusing on business growth, and the improvement of public services in El Salvador. Iris was the first woman leader of the Chamber of Information and Communications and Technology Companies in El Salvador, and among other recognitions, she is a TedXSpeaker, Fellow of the Ibero-American Public Leadership Program by SEGIB-Spain 2018, Fellow of Open Government OAS-Washington DC 2015, Fellow of the Legislative Fellowship Program of Professional Fellows of the United States Department of State Washington, DC 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Business Economics from the University Dr. Jose Matias Delgado (El Salvador) specializing in e-government, digital transformation for business, and public policies for economic development.

Lezli Engelking – Founder/CEO at FOCUS. Lezli is the Founder and CEO of the Foundation of Cannabis Unified Standards (FOCUS), located in Scottsdale, Arizona. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communications and Statistics from Arizona State University. Lezli’s keen understanding of quality and safety, gained during her 12-year tenure in the pharmaceutical industry with Eli Lilly, prompted her to pivot and apply her expertise to the burgeoning cannabis industry. Bringing her over two decades of experience in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors to the cannabis industry, in 2012 Lezli opened the first chain of vertically integrated cannabis licenses in Phoenix, Arizona.  During her time in this role, she gained a comprehensive understanding of the extensive quality and safety issues involved when producing and manufacturing cannabis at scale. The lack of understanding within the cannabis industry around producing safe, quality, and consistent cannabis products caused Lezli to pivot the direction of her work in the cannabis industry.  In 2014, Lezli sold all financial interest in anything related to cannabis to found FOCUS: The Cannabis Health & Safety Organization. FOCUS is an independent, 501c3 non-profit organization that develops cannabis specific standards and provides third-party accredited certification and related services to the public and private sectors globally.

Matthew Kyle – Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer at WeConnect. After graduating from Yale where Matthew studied Economics and Japanese, he played professional basketball in the EuroLeague, African League, in the NBA Pre-season with the New York Knicks and in the Japan League. After basketball he worked for Ernst & Young and then a spin-off of E&Y called Tricor in Tokyo. Almost 3 years ago Matthew Co-Founded weConnect with a few of his closest colleagues. weConnect is changing the game when it comes to international expansion by enabling companies to set up offices throughout Asia, Europe, the US, Canada and South America, with one dedicated team managing all of the legal entity setups, and all ongoing back office compliance like accounting, payroll, and tax.  This is all transparent to the client through one or two cloud financial and HR applications to give the client a consolidated and consistent experience despite the difference business cultures and languages they are expanding their business in. The best part is the client can choose the software and applications they use while leaving the management and expansion in the hands of weConnect.  All the client has to do is recruit talent to represent them and get their products or services ready to be sold into the countries they establish.

Eric Kim – CEO/founder of Dot Incorporated. Eric studied at the University of Washington-Seattle and found three startups when he was in school. He became Christian while he was a junior and saw big braille bible books. He realized the high price of digital braille technology caused a high illiteracy rate and the unemployment rate among blind people. In 2015, He found Dot incorporation that invented the first affordable full-page ‘tactile display’ that can display Braille text and tactile graphics simultaneously for the first time in history. This technology can innovate STEM education for blind students, so DOT was selected as the official e-textbook technology provider for blind education in the United States and expanding it globally. DOT also invented the world’s first braille smartwatch ‘Dot Watch’ and the Barrier-free smart kiosk for disabled people and elderly people in smart cities. With those achievements, Eric selected as the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia – Social entrepreneur in 2017.
