Day One of NASBITE International Conference

We’re having a great time at the NASBITE Small Business Exporter Summit today in Baltimore, meeting business leaders, educators and SBDC professionals. 

This conference is built around people who understand international trade, so Kompass fits right in.  People understand the value of our international database, where each country’s database is locally controlled and sourced. We thank the organizers of the conference, especially Diane Schafer and Kathy Demarco of NASBITE for inviting us to be a part of this exciting event.

We had the pleasure of running into Jim Foley, author of Taking Your Business International: The Global Entrepreneur, who reminisced about attending trade meetings before the Internet age. Back then, a stack of Kompass big black books was a sure sign that the people at the conferences knew what they were talking about.

Coincidentally, Jim went to the same college as Brian Prugh, Kompass North America’s Production Manager, which is just down the road from his current post at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. We’ve spoken with a number of university faculty and others associated with colleges and universities, where students are learning to use Kompass to identify potential customers and suppliers all over the world. 

It’s been a great day, and we’re looking forward to meeting even more new people at the NASBITE International Conference taking place over the next two days here in Baltimore.
