Back in March, we shared the new dates for Breakbulk America and Breakbulk Europe. Breakbulk Europe 2020 will now take place September 29th- October 1st as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic. To accommodate the new dates for Breakbulk Europe, Breakbulk Americas has been postponed to November 3rd- 5th. Earlier this month Breakbulk announced the new dates for Breakbulk Asia. Breakbulk Asia 2020 scheduled to take place on 3-4 August, has been cancelled for this year and 2021. Read their full announcement below. While we are sad to see such great industry events get cancelled, we understand the safety concerns around hosting such large events. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Full Announcement:

“July 12, 2020, LONDON – Organizers of Breakbulk Asia have been monitoring the situation very carefully in Shanghai and have liaised with the venue, local authorities, industry bodies and stakeholders, and as a result, have decided to cancel the event that was due to take place 3-4 August 2020.

“With the ongoing travel restrictions into China for the event’s international exhibitors and delegates, as well as internal restrictions such as those currently in place for Beijing-based customers, we believe that cancelling the event is sadly our only option,” Nick Davison, Hyve portfolio director, said. Further, many individual companies also have their own travel bans that magnified the challenge.

Breakbulk is committed to providing the most value for its exhibitors, and under the current situation, we concluded this would not be possible,” Davison said. He went on to say that the company will not be organizing an event in Shanghai for 2021 and urged Asian-based customers to book into one of Breakbulk’s other market leading events in Europe, America and/or the Middle East.

“We understand the importance of Asia to the global project cargo market. Our coverage will continue through our various products, including Breakbulk365, Breakbulk magazine and within the programming at Breakbulk events to reflect the role that Asia, and in particular China, plays in the development of projects worldwide,” Davison said.

Work is already well underway for out events in Germany and the USA this year, as well as Dubai next February. Breakbulk Events & Media will continue to provide the leading global platform for the project cargo and breakbulk community to connect, learn, network and – most importantly – do business. In addition to Breakbulk365, the newly launched digital content offer, new initiatives will roll out at our 2020 /2021 events – giving the community an even greater reason than before to meet safely face-to-face.”
