Kompass at the media zone

Kompass North America was proud to be a media sponsor of 30th Breakbulk America. Breakbulk Americas brought together shippers and suppliers in Houston, the oil & gas capital of the world. From October 8th to 10th, we experience meeting over 400 exhibitors, keynote addresses from industry leaders including shippers, global project forwarders, leading carriers, and more and networking with colleagues. A lot of great topics were covered especially around international trade importance during the Global Business Forum. It was great seeing buyers and sellers come together and connect.

One of our favorite sessions was the Fireside Chat: Incoterm Rules and the 2020 Revision. Dennis Mottola, Global Logistics Consultant andFrank Reynolds, President of International Projects, Inc, provided a look at the establishment and use of Incoterms rules and the status of Incoterms 2020 revisions. Incoterms have long been the preeminent internationally accepted rules for establishing trade and delivery terms between sellers and buyers in sales contracts. This session  also explore the application of these rules in today’s global business environment and the ICC’s intention for improving the use of Incoterms rules with the 2020 revisions. It was great to be able to interact and see the audience ask questions.

We also enjoyed the Energy Focus Renewables: The Future of Wind Power in the Americas. As wind power continues to grow in importance as a renewable energy source, we pause to examine the capability of regional and national infrastructures to support its continued development. Representatives from a range of multi-modal providers weighed in on the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

Overall, Breakbulk Americas was an amazing event. Thank you to the organizers for having Kompass North America there. Did you know Kompass Databases are made up of over 35 million companies in more than 75 different countries? To learn more about our tools such as EasyBusiness, contact us.
